Oral Conscious Sedation

For our patients with dental anxiety, gag reflex issues or other concerns, oral conscious sedation is an excellent option. This form of sedation uses an oral medication that is taken before your dental appointment. While you will be awake during your treatment, many patients do not remember the experience. You will rest in a deeply relaxed state while we complete your dental care. Patients are required to have a companion to bring them to and from our office due to the level of sedation.

Nitrous Oxide

Nitrous oxide, often called laughing gas, is a mild form of sedation that can provide a relaxing experience for the patient. Breathing in the gas creates a sense of euphoria and can put patients at ease. Nitrous oxide is safe and effective, but the effects wear off quickly. You will be back to yourself in a few minutes, and patients can drive after using laughing gas for sedation.

IV Sedation

The deepest form of sedation dentistry we offer is IV sedation. For individuals with severe dental anxiety, gag reflex or disabilities, this may be recommended to allow the patient to sleep during their treatments. IV sedation may also be recommended for invasive procedures like extractions or oral surgery. We have a board certified anesthesiologist on our dental team to ensure patients are safely sedated.

Sedation dentistry can be a wonderful tool to improve the patient experience during dental treatments. To learn more about sedation options, contact our dental team at our office in Liberty Lake, WA. We can discuss our protocols to give you access to safe and effective sedation dentistry.

As a new patient, I was very pleased with my experience at Liberty Lake Smile. My tooth cracked earlier in the week, and broke off. They were able to see me the same day, addressed the problem, and got me set up with a temporary crown. Dr. Casey, explained what the issues were, and his method was very gentle. The staff was friendly and professional.

Friendly staff, state of the art equipment and a brand new building. I would recommend to anyone looking for a good experience with professionals who care.

Dr. Casey, McCall and their entire team are exceptional. They are friendly, gentle, and easy to visit with and I especially loved the pet channel that I got to watch during my visit! My entire family comes to Liberty Lake Smile Source, and will continue to for years to come.
